I have a couple gauges that I bought that are auto dimming but in order to use that feature I have to connect them to the headlight switch so when the headlights are turned on they dim. I'm not that up on my electronics anyone have any tips on how to do this?

Installing the actual gauge is easy I'm stuck on this part.

 

I'd pull the steering column shroud and splice in to the wire (or tap in to the switch, I can't remember if they are permanent connections or spades).
