Big difference between "on the engine" and "in the oil".

They didn't say it was antifreeze in the oil. They said they noticed antifreeze ON the engine. As in an external leak.

Headgaskets are known to leak antifreeze at the rear of the head

Coolant on the engine... could be throttle body heater leaking which is an easy fix/mod.

I clearly read too quickly through that. Depends on where then that the coolant is present.

The Liverpool f.c. decal is a plus in my book!

Im sure on the check out they will look, but definitely check out the rear frame rails for rot.

Default continuing research

Yes. That listing on Craigslist. Saw the beast today. Drove it a bit. A number of minor things all cosmetic. It will need a headliner. Is going to be inspected by a knowledgeable shop on Monday, Has Atlantic British steel front and back bumpers. Most details are in listing. Has had a front driveshaft replacement in May of 2019 as well as expansion tank and thermostat back in 2018. Here is a few pics from today. Already I'm thinking of offering well less than 5500. We shall see. Thanks to all for the continuing advice.

. Highway miles since 62000 miles (now 101k). I will see what the inspection reveals.

Personally I wouldn't pay over 2500 for that. I picked up a running 99 with 150K miles, no sunroofs, almost mint interior, 7 seater and rear ac with a bad radiator for a grand this summer..

LOL they're dreaming for $5500 bucks for that. I'd never consider over $2000 dollars in that condition and with those issues. Mine was in very nice shape for $3000 bucks and I overpaid because the wife wanted one ASAP so I only shopped a few weeks for it.

I once inquired about buying a Discovery II a few years back on here. I was told not to buy one and that they're a nightmare. A few years later I bought one anyway, a week and a half later, the engine block cracked. It's by far the worst vehicle I've ever owned in many respects. Honestly a complete pile of crap that I've thrown thousands into knowing it was a bad idea the whole way along. Now I've swapped the motor, the worst part of the vehicle out for a Chevy Silverado motor (basically) and that part is more reliable, except for some goofy electrical issues etc. Still it's nothing impressive or anything I'd tell a friend to own. My wife loves the vehicle so, I own one none the less.

RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK!
