Default Continuing Misfires Cylinders 8 and 5 and Large Evap Leak codes

Update:

The Rover is fixed. Initially I had replaced the coils. I still had misfires and the Large Evap Leak code. Replaced the gas cap next. This took care of the misfires but I was still getting the Large Evap Leak Code. Replaced the purge valve with the Hyundai crossover part, reset the SES and have had no problems for two weeks.

my 2001 4.0 Discovery has been misfiring on cylinders 8 and 5. the truck has always run strong and never stuttered or missed even when the SES was flashing.

but since we had the P0308 and P0305 codes the other day my son and i pulled the intake and installed new coils and spark plugs. we also had a P0455 Large Evap Leak code.

truck runs great but is still giving us the misfire codes P0308 and P0305 and P0455. today there was a new misfire code, P0304.

despite the misfire codes the truck never hiccups, the RPM's never change when the SES is flashing. i have taken it out on the highway and run it up to 70 mph. sure enough the SES flashed but performance was not affected at all. again, no stall, no slowdown, no change in the RPM's.

what should i look at next? injectors, grounds?

as far as the P0455 code goes, i have checked the gas cap. next step is the Purge Valve.

thanks,

Check for vacuum leaks, the purge control valve is usually a P0441. Could be a poorly sealed gas cap, or emission line.

Did you replace the spark plug wires? I saw coils & plugs. I recommend STI, Kingsborne.

the misfires on 8 and 5 are back.

we went back in and installed new 8mm Kingsbourne wires.

i am still getting the misfires on 8 and 5 and occasionally 4.

could this be a grounding issue or could an issue with the injectors cause this?

so far, new fuel cap, fuel pressure regulator, coils, spark plugs and spark plug wires. i'm kinda lost at this point.
