my rave manual is in my laptop and since the keyboard is broke and new one on order from sony i am on my netbook.

so the question is this. how many gallons of coolant to drain and refill the system? rover goes in tuesday for a ABS scan so unless i go trailing this weekend i wanted to swap coolant and replace the brake fluid and knock those off my 60k service list.

 

I gallon of consentrate or 2 gallons of 50/50.
Before you go spend money on your ABS, are your brakes squeaking? If you throw a panic stop on loose surface at 30 MPH, do you feel the ABS pulsate thru the brake pedal?

 

DII's take ~2 gal, DI's ~3.

they do not. i tossed a few panic stops in the road and on gravel and even with the 3 lights out on the dash the ABS did not kick in.

brakes are newish with about 1000 miles on them. they do not squeak that i can hear. maybe a very slight mouse fart from the rear as low speed but thats it. it doesnt trip the lights. they usually pop on when i turn the key or after i have driven a few miles. then go out for a week and come back. no real rhyme or reason or pattern.

but no the ABS no workie. tonight i was gonna try out the hill decent and see if that is working now with the lights off. cause of course it would not with em on.

 

tested the hill decent,,,

no amigos lit,

locked it in low and hit the button. light came on. let my foot off the break and you can hear the modulator working (the clicking mechanical sound) but the vehicle did not creep like it should have. as momentum took over it coasted faster and faster all while the modulator was working away. no TC lights on or any other light but the decent light.
