I used this stuff to patch up a pinhole in my radiator. I've been running it for a few months now and no leaks at all. Definitely recommend as long as you don't care about looks, cures in an hour too.
this is what i was originally looking for (any putty formula anyway). i'm getting a better idea of what tools/fluids to keep in my disco in case of the eventual breakdown on the highway.
I would definitely keep an extra pair of coolant bleeder screws in your truck. I went through a few of them when I first got my disco, then I bought a brass one. If you make any adjustment to the screw while the system is hot you'll probably break it and be out a disco until you get a new one.
Advanced Auto Parts has them for a 2003 BMW 325i, not the disco. Same screw for my 03 Disco though so... Less than $5

my bleeder screw broke after a mechanic tried to tighten it probably while it was warm. when i ordered the new tank i also ordered the brass bleeder screw from bmw.

i just bought a tube of this stuff, was kinda excited to see how well it works but I returned the house with my new expansion tank at the door. oh well, i'll keep the JB water weld in the car for next time. now i'm just waiting to the engine to cool down before i start the job.
ok brand new expansion tank was installed and my wife drove it to work on the highway. i asked her to send me a pic before she drives back and this is how low the coolant is. i know its a small tank and the heat will increase the coolant level. but is this too low of coolant level to continue driving around?
Well the wife drove it home and found coolant leaking from underneath. Tank went dry before i can locate leak. I suspect a torsion clamp is just a bit too loose. We were just about to take it on a trip but now i threw it at mechanics. Doing a pressure test see where it comes from.
