Luckily it will just be your VC gaskets or valley pan. Sounds like you did the head gaskets right so that shouldn't be the issue.

I am so sorry for that code thrown at you.

Mike -
What would cause his Disco II to throw that code?
The fix does not sound easy or inexpensive..

So does anyone know anything about a inertia switch? I have been reading a lot about this P1668 problem I am having and in some of the posts I am seeing this "inertia switch" keep coming up as a likely culprit. So I went out and pressed it, which I did not know you could do, and after that I seemed to have struck a cord. It had been not wanting to fire up and I hit the inertia button and it fired right up. I guess the question is where do I go from here? Oh and my cd player started working...some spooky *** **** going on with my car all of a sudden.
I think I am going to change the inertia switch, it fairly cheap, and the crank sensor. Also I was thinking about the fuel pump while im at it, but not sure yet.

Default Coolant leak *Update*

So I am still working on my coolant leak... I think I'm close to the solution though.

I really wanted to update everyone on the P1668 code that I have been getting as of late. I'm sure everyone knows that it is for the passive immobilization on the car, which usually has to do with your ecu or bcu as far as what I have read.

Symtoms:
Car would crank but not fire
Car would cut off while driving (no chugging just straight cut out)
Of course kept getting the P1668 code on my ultragauge

So everything worked in the car locks lights..everything. I spoke to P.T. and I decided to change the crank position sensor (which was covered it coolant from my leak) and it fired up! Then I drove it to Indy, a 1 hour drive with no problem. $46 from Autozone bosch part! I then decided to just have the Tom Wood dealership in Indianapolis reprogram the car just in case, it was $128 total for the work. That a bit pricey but it could have been worse.

In conclusion, for all those still searching for the p1668 fix check you crank position sensor first! Thaks for everyones help..Rovers for Life.
