Coolant leak
Two things -
First, it's possible the timing cover (which is behind the water pump) is leaking. Both water and oil circulate thru the timing cover, so it can leak and/or mix either of them. So check your oil to see if it's frothy - if so, you very likely have a timing cover issue.
What I would do is put the new pump and hose on, but leave the fan and shroud off. Use a little RTV on the gaskets. Let it sit for a few hours for the RGV to dry, the fill and bleed the system, then rent a pressure tester from Advance auto parts and pressurize the system. Then look for leaks. Let it sit while pressurized for a while to see if any slow leaks develop. If no leaks, reassemble the fan/shroud.
Second, you should replace the clutch while you are in there. It quite possibly killed the pump.
