Default Coolant leak after H.G.

Just got done putting my engine back together after doing the H.G. Truck started right up then I noticed a steady stream of antifreeze streaming down the back of the block on the passenger side while the engine is on. It looks like it is coming from above the head. Any idea of what it could be?

Heater hose clamp not tightened?, if it's that steady of a stream it should be easy to find.

Heater hoses are there as mentioned.
Also, you have coolant running from the intake manifold coolant jacket down into the heads.

if the valley gasket gave you trouble putting it on.
and, it did not go on right or you did not torque down the intake maniford correctly, there is a small chance you have coolant running from an intake runner and out the back of the engine.

But, probably a heater hose.
There is also a metal pipe the intake manifold which has an O ring.
If you took that apart..

could be the valley gasket its time to borrow a preasure tester, before you start ripping it apart

I agree, it is time to do a coolant pressure test to find the problem ASAP.

Thanks for the replies. I think it is coming from the intake manifold but i'll rent a pressure tester this week and see were it is coming from. I was worried after I got it back together i'd have extra parts or it wouldn't start.

Im pretty sure your intake bolts arent torqued down enough. I had the exact same symptoms for a few months and thought it was a head gasket. Pulled the head the other day the gasket was fine, but the lower intake bolts were only hand tight. Retorque them with some thread locker and let us know whats up.

If i have time i'll tear it apart, but july is a busy month for me so I might send it to the garage i also need to get my flowmaster installed so 2 birds 1 stone. But I had a problem putting the intake on the back corner so that is the logical thing causing it. I am guessing use "Blue" locktite on it. thanks for the tips.

You might remove the upper intake plenum and just go around those intake bolts in the tightening pattern and get them all to final torque.
That could be all it is.

Keep it simple if you can.

I had to take the Discovery I all apart and the intake off again after the HG job.
I forgot to put the rubber seals under the valley gaskets. I got an oil drip -
onto the exhaust.

before you start ripping it a apart and guessing, just preasure test it.
