Default Coolant leak mystry

I've been reading through the archives and I think my front cover gasket is shot. I replaced all of my hoses three weeks ago, and the t-stat. I had a small leak on the t-stat upper hose.

After this effort I was seeing fresh coolant on the ground after driving to work and letting the truck sit for a few hours. This does not happen every day, just once ever few days. So I replaced the water pump, a job I've done hundreds of times. I then look under the front and I still have coolant drips all over the oil pan and steering armatures.

Tonight I pulled the fan off and ran the truck for a bit, nothing. Dry as a bone. From my searching it appears that the front cover is probably the issue. I did a coolant pressure test this evening and it holds, which I found to be case in some of the other posts.

Any input before I do the front cover tomorrow?

I had trouble finding my leak too. I put some coolant dye in the reservoir and ran it, found it right away. Top right hand corner of the timing cover, gasket was shot. Fixed that and now I have a new leak, valley gasket by the intake manifold. Fun weekend coming up!

Good luck.

Goodness, I hope this is not my fate as well. Seems like doing AC work, you fix one part and everything down the line blows out after it. I may as well do the heads, valley and front cover I suppose. After all it's only time.

+1 top drivers side of the front cover is a mystery leak spot. It can not leak for a month and then drop all your coolant, be careful.

let's remember that the coolant system is under PRESSURE, so when we plug one leak .....the next weakest link will likely show up. My head gaskets leaked...seeped coolant....so I did the whole head gasket routine, 3 days later my frt cover starts to leak as lipadj46 says in the upper rt corner, now that it's cold out it seems to have slowed down considderably but still needs replacement.
One thing at a time Scott, you'll get 'er eventually

I'll PM you, we haven't met yet but you did get a chance to see my Hawkeye the other day when you helped Adam with his coil packs.
