If I get as far as the lower intake gasket and that's the issue, should I keep going and do the heads? The consensus is that they will eventually need replacement and I have 107k on the clock. However, I have been diligent about taking care of the engine, including flushing the coolant every 30k or so. So I find it hard to blame the dex-cool, so what else could have caused it? And since I don't have oil in the coolant, or vice versa and the truck still runs fine, it seems odd to me that the head gasket is leaking.

I was prepared to do the heads until I found the problem on mine... I guess it depends on how much time you have available. I am planning on doing head gaskets on both of my trucks this winter.
