Others might have different opinions, but to me, if the TBH isn't leaking and the hoses in that area aren't leaking, it has to be that metal pipe o-ring, or something X factor caused by a bolt not being properly torqued down.

FWIW, that o-ring can split on installation too. Meaning, even though you installed a new one, if you weren't careful, that new one could've been damaged. I've always put a very thin amount of silicone grease on it when reinstalling just to make sure it doesn't get snagged on a tiny burr in the casting or something.

I was talking to a buddy about it last night and he said the same thing. I might add, It was NOT a specific O ring for this pipe, I didn't have time to wait nor any local place that carried them so I went to the parts store and found one that fit. It was tight so that did cross my mine. I think I'm gonna pull it back out today, and if it looks fine put silicone grease on it and try again, or if it is split then get the grease and try with a new one. But that's what i figured, its gotta be the o ring. I didn't think there was anything else up there, put wanted to make sure.

Oh... wait.. what? haha that was info we needed on your first post. You need to install the proper o-ring, full stop. It sucks having to wait for parts, but that's just Disco ownership my friend.

And this is also that moment where when you order one, you order two or three. Gradually building a small cache of these types of spares make Disco life much less stressful. Especially when they're a part as inexpensive as an o-ring.

Two is one and one is none after all.

Ah that's a bummer. I was really hoping to avoid that because I hate throwing parts at my truck and then driving it 4 hours. I like to daily it for a week or so before hand just to make sure, especially since this truck hasn't be driven (besides around my yard) since august. I still haven't even finished breaking in the new gears yet. I'll dig around my parts truck today because there is the box of gaskets in it from the PO, and maybe I'll get lucky and find one in there. Or, just commondere the pipe off my other d2 lol.

Its one of those $.95 parts with $9.95 shipping. When I did my head gaskets I had tons of parts left over, the AB kit is built that way. I did notice that the subject oring is the same as one in the HF neoprene oring kit, if that is more convenient for you. might be worth a shot.

I have tons of parts left over, mostly for RR classics and D1 I think. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?

Totally. That why I'll usually buy 10 of those types of things. Just had to buy a .25 washer for the L322 and with shipping at 5.95, just added a few more knowing I'll someday either lose one and be thankful, or worst case, have a few extra washers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you have a link to that? I'll order a few to have as backups after this, but like I said before, I need to get this sorted today or tomorrow, maybe Wednesday at the latest, so an alternative o-ring would be perfect. I got some silicone grease as well for when I put this one in.

They have a box of about 100 o rings, all sizes. They have rubber and neoprene, make sure you get the neoprene for the chemical resistance.

What do you mean by neoprene? I don't see any that say that, just nitrile, viton, or hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR). The HNBR seem like they are probably the most resistant so I would imagine those? But would that not lead to the same issue Brandon said? I already went to a parts store and found an o-ring that fit well, so how is this any different. Unless mine was just not quite perfect.

Yesterday, I went to Harbor Freight and got a pack of rings and silicone grease. When I pulled the pipe back out, the Viton O ring I had on looked fine and fit better than any of the HF ones, so I greased it up and put it back in. Went it much much smoother and has zero leaks now, at least no leaks in the 45 mins or so the truck ran yesterday before it died on me lol. But, either way the coolant leak seems solved. Now just time to swap the CKPS and hopeit doesn't strand me on my 3.5 hour drive Friday. Will defieanlty order a handful of the correct o rings though for future use.
