That is we think it is the coolant gasket between cover and the block. It has not run hot so if I can get the leak handled, I think we will be o.k. The water on valve cover was dripping down from connection at throttle body.

see Oil Pump Gear Kit W/Gaskets - Land Rover kits from Atlantic British, if opening it up do the oil pump (can crack - pix 2). Check timing chain. Exam water pump (which can be changed later). Look for any pump wobble. When it wobbles, this is what is does inside (pix 1).

Actually I wasn't planning on opening it up. We think the leak is at the o-ring. I don't have to open that up to replace that o-ring at the intake do I? Still have to take the housing off so I can get to it. Got everything off except the housing. Probably doing that tomorrow night. Also, does the gasket at the throttle body need replaced or can it be reused? I'm going to clean it while doing this and changing the exhaust manifold. Been PB blasting bolts for a few days now. Do the bolts need heated prior to trying to get off as I read in some posts?

Default throttle body gasket

Never mind about the throttle body question. I saw they are only $3 so I will get one when I order the o-ring for the intake. However I am not going to order it until I actually see in there and make sure I don't need anything else.

Default Freeze Plug blowout - lost all coolant

I can't see exactly where due to the housing for the belts. Looking from below I can't quite see it either. Are there freeze plugs on the front of the engine?
Most certainly. I lost the front-most freeze plug on the driver's side and lost ALL engine coolant very quickly. Thankfully, I was ~1/4mi from home and quickly made it back to the garage before sustained high engine temps. A reminder of the importance of having a good 3rd party temperature gauge and being at least somewhat vigilant in monitoring the disco's vital signs. The coolant reservoir's main hose drains downward toward water pump / bottom of block, so, once the truck was offline for testing/troubleshooting, any attempt to refill reservoir = nice gushing waterfall flowing down from the block, specifically, in my particular case, the 1.5" / 38mm diameter freeze plug hole located underneath the driver's side motor mount.

2004 D2 4.6L ~140k mi.
