Default Coolant In Oil

Yep......drained the oil and it looked milky. I've taken it down to the heads and those are coming off tomorrow to inspect the gasket and pistons. Truck wasn't loosing coolant and no white smoke out of the exhaust. I did have a cylinder 8 misfire so I swapped the plugs and it didn't make a difference. Any ideas of where coolant could be entering the oil pan if it's not the head gasket? Could the front cover gasket cause this? Valley gasket looked good.

Front cover gasket can cause this. Recommend you pressure test the system with the pan off before the heads come off. You should be able to see where the leaks are coming from. Cam area - hg, front cover - cover gasket - cylinders - uh oh

Good luck.

When you pull the heads off, check to see if any piston heads appear steam cleaned, or much cleaner than the others. If so, with a history of overheating you could have a crack between the water jacket and cylinder sleeve, causing coolant to leak into the crankcase.

I really should've asked that question before I took this thing apart. Gonna have to reinstall the intake manifold and other cooling system stuff to do a pressure test with the pan off. Thanks for the replies. BTW I've owned the rover for 3 years and it's never came close to overheating.
