Coolant Question

Land Rover says to change your engine coolant every 36months or 45,000 miles, whichever is sooner.
Why when the coolant is supposed to last 150,000 miles?
You can use ANY aluminum safe coolant you want, I use and recommend any 50/50 premixed because it is fool proof.
Drain and flush your system, refill, bleed the air out, you are good to go.
Then do a drain and fill every two years after that, coolant is cheap insurance.

Dex-cool tends to crud up if it comes in contact with air usually from leaks and we all know that Land Rovers are famous for leaks. One of the best coolants around is Peak Global it is not as acidic and is safer because it is an organic acid based coolant.
Regarding Peak Global, I think I could use that. In order to replace/flush the liquid, how many should I get. Thanks
Also, because of the side effects of Dexcool, you will also want to replace the coolant pressure cap, t/stat and add a bottle of either Water Wetter, Purple Ice or BG's Super Cool.
If you have ever had any over heat issues or concerns, you might up grade to a Soft Spring T/Stat sold by Lucky8, it will run your engine a good 10 plus degrees cooler.

I'm new to Disco's and have a few questions about this topic.
I've recently picked up an 04 SE and it seems to be showing a coolant leak on the left side of the engine, above the pan. Not much.
Prior to me purchasing, I took to the local LR dealership and they said I needed to flush my coolant because it was mixed with Green and Dex.
After reading a bunch of forums threads I think Green is probably a better way to go.
Considering there seems to be a small leak, is it worth it to get things flushed out and replaced with Green? Will this potentially make the leak worse? (BTW, the engine oil is showing no signs of milkyness, so hopefully no cracks).
Thanks.
