Hey peeps, im new here. Recently I have acquired 2 Discovery 2s. One of them is leaking coolant out of the elbow where the hose connects to the Water Pump.. I took all this apart and found the Y plastic connector broke.
Further, I took apart my green discovery without the face-lift and realized it does not have the same y connector piece.
Simply put, where can I find a new one? What are your thoughts should I just upgrade it and save the trouble.
I have had way too many plastic cooling system parts fail over the years. LR, BMW, Ford, probably every brand that used plastic parts in the cooling system has had failures. I ALWAYS replace a failed plastic cooling system part with a metal replacement...ALWAYS. I have the Carr's parts in my truck.
I generally agree with the sentiment of metal over plastic, especially when cost is close to the same. Generally the plastic bits are good for ten years or about 100k miles.
