Default cooling suggestions?

hey guys, ive got a 97 d1 with around 140k miles on it that runs a little warm on long trips or if the ac is on for awhile if it's around 90 plus outisde. t-stat and water pump are only 2 years old and the system seems to be holding coolant fine. i've flushed it regularly but it hasn't seemed to help much. from what i've read i'm thinking the radiator might be clogged so any suggestions on a good replacement?

Have you tested your fan clutch, is it working properly, how about your electric fans are they working?

Just a thought, but after looking at your pics, looks like you get her dirty. Pull your grill and pressure wash the rad. Make sure you are getting good air flow though it.

the fan clutch seems to be working fine. the electric fans don't start for a while but they still run after i turn off the vehicle sometimes so i'm not sure if they are working properly.

i have cleaned the radiator off pretty good after getting her dirty and i've noticed some parts of the coil are bent. not majorly and only in a couple of places. like i've picked up a rock or two here and there.

thanks for the fast repsonses guys, and i appreciate the advice!

Also possibly overcharged AC system , have a shop check your system pressures, LOW SIDE no lower than 30 psi (at 2k RPM)
HIGH SIDE no higher than 250 psi on a hot day, and air flow is critical . also make sure no junk is jammed between the condenser and rad.

With 140K on your truck you probably will need to have the radiator rodded out, they do plug up wit time.

Ha ha. Hell actually I owned this Jeep since I graduated high school. But always loved rovers from when I was a kid watching them on nature shows in Africa and such.
I figure one hand washes the other! [sm=patriot.gif] (Finally got a chance to use this on a Land Rover forum! ha!)

oh, ok so you just now decided to claim it. I think most on here either have a Jeep or used to. My brother is still driving mine. Won't sell it back either [:@]
