Ran it this morning, coolant bottle cap off to temp to see if an air bubble would burp out of radiator, desperate times and all that, and that didn't get results. Took a drive with the heater on full blast, car runs awesome, but temps were 204-207 driving, and 215 when I parked.

When stopped it did feel like more of the radiator was warm, but definitely the Top Drivers side is engine temp, and the rest significantly less especially the top Passenger side.

The 180 degree thermostat again tested ok on the stove.

Plan of action is to get Vinegar and distilled water, and fill up the radiator with it, soak, drain and blow out with a shop vac both directions.

I have never been able to figure out how to get the the engine block coolant plugs.

Your Turner is not that old. I would not think it needs flushed to the extent of pulling the block plugs. You never ran Dexcool in this motor, did you?

Yea, the block plugs don't look easy to get to. You can see the passenger side one fairly easily but I guess the drivers side is under the motor mount or something

I gotta pull mine as well

No Peak and Evans Waterless.

I decided to do Zerex Radiator Flush.

At this point I am leaning towards a bad radiator. How? I have no idea, but the Top by the intake is Hot, but gets dramatically cooler as you go left. I mean, yes, the fans will cool it, but something is wrong.

Side note, should a thermostat have a rattle?

Yes the thermostat will have a rattle sound as it has a little brass plug that floats in the weep hole.

Thanks Best! I thought so, but this diagnosis is challenging my memory.

Yep no problem at all. If you do swap out the radiator I've had very good results with the 50-75 units off of Ebay.

I saved the old Union from my top hose assembly. So I am going to try to replace the thermostat with that to help flush the system a bit.

Not sure it will fit, but it’s worth a shot. I will pinch off the hose on the top of the thermostat. See if that will get fluid circulating thru the radiator.

I am going to pull off hoses tomorrow and inspect, I really wonder if I stuffed a towel somewhere to block a port, and it’s sucked in somewhere. I really don’t think so, but who knows.
