Default Cost of cleaning, resurfacing heads when changing head gasket.

Hi,
I'm fairly new to this hobby and working on changing blown head gasket on my 2000 D2. I figured I better do everything else while Im at it and brought heads to local shop that specializes in resurfacing and working on engines.
So for vac cleaning, valve jobs, surfacing heads they quoted me $570 Does that sounds about right? I have done this on my BMW and I remember it was few hundred dollars cheaper. Heads are OK, no cracks. Just needs to be sealed. Plus he said he wont be able to do it until the 30th Thank you.

Depends on the shop... are you just replacing valve seals? Are you having them change valves and guides? That sounds pretty high. Just to re surface a set the last shop did it for me @ $60. To push out guides and replace a few valves on my last set it was about $250. So not sure why such a high price.

Yeah I agree. It was only $60 a head for me. I spent a few extra bucks to do the valve seals but I think my total was only 250

Location and what is being done is everything. So it’s hard to say without knowing exactly what is being done. Deck, seals, lapping the valve seats and valves etc adds up quickly
