Default Couple of weird quirks I noticed after 16 years

‘04 D2

I cannot turn on the front dome light. It works fine when the door is open. Just cannot turn it on using the switch with door closed. Swapped it out for the center dome light - which I could turn on using the switch in center position. Didn’t work - and the front dome light in the center position now works fine.

Cannot roll the drivers window up or down if the door is open. Works fine when the door is closed.

Anyone else experiencing this?

thx,

Front dome light will act odd if the ground wire is off. I see it usually disconnected or not put back after a headliner is redone.

With the window I'd inspect the wiring in the black rubber grommet between the door/body or the harness behind the driver kick panel.

Well, I did redo the headliner a few months ago.

And did have the drivers door off about a year ago when I fixed the broken check strap mounting point. Disconnected the door harness and pulled the connector through the hole.

RE: Front dome light, I had the exact same issue after I redid my sunroofs and water leak chasing with the headliner out. What I found ....
1) On the *rear* sunroof, there is a single pole ground wire, that is attached to the tab on the motor.
2) On the *front* sunroof, there is a similar looking single pole ground wire, so I inadvertently connected it to the sunroof motor. I found that instead of connecting to the sunroof motor tab, it attaches to the dome light.
Fixed my issue. Give a try?

That was it. Took the map pocket down, switched ground position form sunroof motor to dome light - BOOM!

On the window - that was it. Squeezed the black rubber wire hose while actuating the window and it worked. Need to look into it. Thanks!
