Cracked Block?

The video I saw also had no hood on it.
The stock exhaust will not bolt up directly either, so a muffler shop will have to fabricate some pipe. And I'm not sure what exhaust he has on it at the moment.
But, with a catalytic converter and stock D2 or LS muffler, it will be as quiet as a new GM truck.
Still, given the price of a Turner engine, I'de save some money and go GM.
If money was no option for me, I'de boat anchor my 4.6 today for an LS3.

Have you considered just buying another D2?
I see lots of overpriced junk, but occasionally, a good truck at a good price pops up.
Again, given the cost of a new engine, plus labor, you may be better off.
Extinct has a great looking black(03?) for sale, with everything it needs done, and then some.
You could buy something like that and still save money...plus you'de have a parts truck.

Sensible decision. If it is the heads, get on the waiting list for the LS3 5.3 swap, or you could get a 4.8 LS3 really cheap, they are the same block I believe, but that may affect wiring harness. I don't know, but they would.

i had a shop do the front cover. i wasn't confident i could tackle that type of work. now after having done the water pump the extra steps to do the front cover don't seem that intimidating.
