Cracked Block Temporary Solution

Well, I recently went a little too hard at the country club going through the pheasant patches in my 99' D2.
Didn't notice it overheating, but after shutting it off and looking at my iCarsoft it was at 280F. I was only at WOT getting through mud for 2-3 minutes with my rad covered in mud too.
Thought I blew a HG..until I realized I didn't when I took it apart. HGs were intact. Put new ones in, guess what? Bad misfire when starting up after sitting for 5-10 minutes. I'm guessing from coolant seeping into the cylinders. Lowest temp was like 240f....
Then I thought to myself..what if I went and got a new engine from the u-pullit?
And then I thought to myself...this thing has got holes in the frame and I paid $300 for it, why would I do that?
So I went over to the local oReilly's for some P38 brakes, and lo and behold talking to the guy behind the counter, he suggests K&W Fiberlock..$50, please. Oh lourd, that's like $46.50 too much.
I put it into the top rad hose, 1/3 of the bottle at a time. Ran it up to temp, and shut it off. Next day I did the same thing, until I was out.
So, I forget about the truck for a week and come back to it, expecting it to still chug badly on start. BUT GUESS WHAT?! Smooth as can be, now idles at 217 and drives at 217.. I reckon the crap did a number to my radiator, but again, $300 for the truck.
So.. if anyone is in a pinch financially, and REALLY need a quick fix, I'd recommend this. Just make sure to either use a different radiator and bypass the heater core, or install a new radiator after.
Thanks
