Default Cracked Rear Bumper- Can it be repaired

Long story short, my 2003 Disco HSE has a cracked bumper. It was purchased that way, except a week ago it actually had a lamp still in place (which has since fallen out after a trip through car wash.) Dealer promised to fix it with the bumper from another 2003 that was on the lot if that one did not sell within a week. Thursday that week passed and dealer is not refusing to replace as promised (hate it when people do not keep their word.)

Anyway, judging by the pictures is there a way for us to fix this ourselves without having to buy another bumper altogether:

That sucks. I would hassle the dealer till he made good on his promise!! About fixing it, I don't know.

I just saw a cover on e-bay that wasn't too bad. Check there, Craigslist, Salvages etc....

Was the repair put in writing when you bought the vehicle? If not you have no course of action other than repair it yourself. It sucks when dealers pull that crap but that's how they get people to buy cars.

Hi Country Off-Road has a new rear steel bumper you may want to look into - about $520.00 as I recall. You may want to check with Matt there - mbush@hicountryoffroad.com.

When I went by Hi Country Off Road last Monday it looked like Matt was up to his eye ***** in work. I thought about stopping but couldn't find a place to park.

If you're not interested in the swing away tire carrier Hi Country makes I would go with something like an RTE rear bumper. Hi Country's rear bumper sticks out almost a foot to accommodate the tire carrier that hold 2 jerry cans behind the tire. Of course it sounds more like the OP wants to fix the stock bumper than to upgrade.

Thanks guys for the advice. Looks like a replacement is in order. I will check out some sources, or look into that upgrade.
