Crank sensor
Hi all, after reading all the info here I matched up the symptoms on my auto 03 disco with a bad crank sensor. Ordered from autozone for 65 bucks. Then when I picked it up they told me it has to match the 7th numberr to the right on my VIN number. With my luck, it does not match. They said they have two sensors for two different VIN ranges. The seventh number to the right either has to be a 6 or a 4. I called the local LR dealership to see if they have two different sensors for two different VIN ranges and they told me they only have one.
Will the crank sensor I got from autozone work on my truck even if they say that part is not for that VIN range or should I pay more than half the price at the dealership?
Thnx

Just checked and I need the ERR7354. Which looks exactly like the one I got from autozone, except in its a duralast box that says "CRANKSHAFT SENSOR SU5570". Theres only one crank sensor right? and mines the 4.6... Its an 03 disco with the fatal engine with 88,000 miles. Another thing, I cant take off the fron drivers side tire. Ive taken off all lugs and it seems to be stuck together. Ive even resulted to hitting it with a big piece of wood several times but it still seems to be stuck. Is there a certain trick to getting it off?

Install it, there is only one crank sensor for a DII and it covers all years.

It will run for about 20 mins, then idle down, then shut off. Once i try to restart it will crank but not start up. After it sits for about 30+ mins it will fire right back up...no problem...20 mins later...same thing. iv troubleshooted the battery, alternator, and fuel relay, all check out good. After doing research i found a couple of posts pointing the Crankshaft sensor. So i figured i would give it a shot.
Iv looked for the last 2 hours and cant seem to find it so i am now looking to see if there is a diagram online to give me a visual reference.
Thanks for the info!
