crankshaft sensor

Default crankshaft sensor

is there a way to test the crankshaft positing sensor on a discovery 2 with a 4.o liter. i have no signal to the coil pack for spark from the ecm or a signal from the emc to the fuel pump relay can any one give me some advice thank you for your help

No there is no way to test it.
Just replace it, its bad.

You test it by turning the key, no start... bad sensor.

Actually if you have a good scanner, you can test the sensor to verify the signal coming from it to see if it has failed.

yes definitly the crank sensor not a uncommon problem with these trucks replace it and you should be in good shape

buy an extra and keep it in the glove compartment in case it happens again and you are far from home.

You should be able to find it locally cheaper than from the Rover Parts houses.
Standard Motor Products PN PC580. Most any parts store should be able to cross from it if they don't carry SM.

we are having problems just changed spark plugs and car will not start help plz.
