Crawler MT and update on the progress of my D2
Been busy lately and I'm proud to say that I now run 235/85/R16 Crawler MT tires! They look dam good on my style 2 wheels. I also got my TF diff guards and cooper diff fill plugs installed. My CDL works again and I can shift into lock without issue. Here are some pictures and even a video I made showcasing my truck. Not trying to be cocky here but I wont deny how proud I am of this truck. AND I may be going on a road trip from Seattle Washington to Seward Alaska come this April! All I have to do is update the radiator, cooling hoses and heater plate. Also I spoke with RTE Fab and they are going to work with me on a lower price for their HD rear bumper so I should have the bumper by next month!

Right now I'm leaning towards getting her transported from Southern NH all the way to Seattle Washington, from there taking a route up through British Colombia and all the way to Seward. I dont know much about the roads up there but Mapquest revealed a route I could take.
Alternatively I could have her shipped all the way up to Anchorage Alaska from Southern NH but then we would be talking about alot more money than I want to pay, partly because the transport services will not drive through British Columbia, instead they would take the Barge from Kent Seattle to Anchorage. The cost of using a Barge is greater than the price it will cost to ship my truck from NH to Seattle!
Amerifright would charge me $1,895 at retail rate to ship the truck to Washington. Add an additional $600 if I chose a enclosed trailer. They will not ship to Alaska. You cannot store anything in the truck so that would mean I would have to spend a fortune shipping all my tools and possessions up to Alaska separately..... Supposedly they are registered with the BBB. 10-12 days.
Nationwide Transport Services would charge me $1,950 at retail rate to ship my truck to Seattle Washington. Or 3,700-$4,000 to ship to Anchorage Alaska. You can have up to 100 LBS of storage in the vehicle but you have to list everything on the manifest and verify it with the truck driver. Also rated with the BBB supposedly. I like these guys better because you correspond with one person during the entire course of the journey rather then being directed to truck drivers.
If I were to drive from Seattle to Seward Mapquest estimated the total price to $725.62 using premium fuel and assuming Im getting 10-12 MPG combined. Would take 40 hours and 56 minutes on constant driving to reach Seward.

Thats the whole point behind getting these tires. Classic Rovers as well as older military vehicles used narrow tires and I really like the look. Its different and less common whereas most people prefer wide tires.

Personally I like the old military narrow tire look. I've always liked that. That's what I'm going for next. Looks great to me. Nice truck, looks like a land rover!
