Crazy OBDII codes Disco I
#12
Ok... It acted like it was flooded. After I checked all the plugs for fouling (all were normal), my wife went out for a few errands. After one stop, she called to tell me that it was sputtering badly on start-up. About 2 hours after she came home, we wanted to go out to eat, but it just wouldn't turn over. The engine would crank, and sputter, but not start. This morning, everything was back to normal.
How's that?

So did you get 8mm magnecor wires yet? If not try that. Here is the best price:

Funny... I was just looking at another thread about the SRS light flashing, and looked up Apex Performance.
In all of my years of working on vehicles, the only time I've ever had to upgrade plug wires was if I had a really hot coil upgrade. You think that's the trick, huh? That's going to solve the "running rich" codes and the occasional cylinder #1 misfire?

The engine is aluminum and runs hot and eats regular non silicone wires fast. The magnecors do the trick most of the time like magic. Most people here are believers and I personally have a set in my truck and solved my misfire issues. I can't hurt either way and you will need them eventually.

Well you can test your wires by spraying water on the ends over the spark plugs and shaking them (with a pair of rubber pliers or wearing rubber gloves) in the dark. If you see arcing they are toast.
Like you said it can't hurt and you will need to do it sooner or later. Normal autozone type wires can be eaten up in a month by a Disco.
