On the 2K, you can drop the front shaft, lock the transfer case and drive lightly, and have the shaft re-built by a local driveline shop. Make sure whatever you put back in has greasable fittings so you can lube it. Then put it in and unlock the case. Search on here and there are pics on how to do it manually without adding a shifter. Make sure you unlock it after you have both shafts on. No driving on dry pavement with it locked.

Should be under $200 and most shops can build and balance in a day. Call around.

Yeah make sure that if you get one from AB that it is not just another factory shaft without the zerks!

It looks like it might be. I'll see about having it rebuilt, but isn't there a custom shop that makes crazy-*** good ones for like $350? I thought I remembered seeing the link on here many months ago...

I just emailed them- I'll order one for each Disco next week. Both of them have factory shafts... I don't want to have to buy new trannys...

PS- Gawdamn, maybe next year I'll be done with maintenance and can get a freaking brush guard and roof rack like I've wanted for a year and a half!

haha i know what you mean....
Did you take a look at the cruise control? At least is probably a cheap fix (or free) fix...
