Default cruise control dead on disco 2

Ok I know this has been covered on here 143898437 times now butit is usually for a Disco 1. I have a 99 disco 2 and I was wondering how to fix the cruise control. The cruise does not work at all it only clicks in the glovebox area like a solenoid is clicking. Any advice on how to fix it? I seen that the disco 1 have vacuum lines that crack behind the brake pedal often times among other places, is this different for a disco 2?

First make sure all the vaccum lines are replaced, the slightest crack will shut down the cruise control, if you still have problem get back to us.

Is there any diagrams that show the vacuum line routing for the CC?

Not unless you have a shop manual or CD.
Look at the control unit located on the wheel well behind your battery, check thos e hoses as well as the long one that hooks to a switch located at the brake pedal, those are the only lines to check and replace.

I am not sure if this is just for 1's, but you might check the plungers for the brake light switch. You actually hear 2 clicks when pressing the brake pedal. When I got mine, the brake lights would not go off. I pulled the plunger out with the pedal depressed, and this fixed it. The cruise came later, and after replacing all the lines, I checked this switch again. The other plunger was stuck in too. Didn't even notice it the first time. This fixed my problem. Like I said, not sure if yours is the same.

Good luck.

On a D2, there are 2 switches, the brake light switch and anoth similiar swith that also has a hose attached to it, that is for the cruise control.
