good lord... i'll look into all of this. I might at least try to replace the cruise control ECU and see if that works... Thanks for all the input guys! Let me know if you think of anything else.

Good luck it's just that besides bad hoses the cruise control system on a DII is usually solid.

I dont want to highjack your thread... but one of the many issues my '03 disco has, is a bad cruise. The light comes on, and the button "clicks". It sets fine, but doesnt maintain it very well. It drops 5-10mph from the set speed, then floors it to get back, drops back again, floors it to catch up. Over and over. Very annoying, and unusable. Any thoughts?

That sounds more like a vaccum hose problem, check all your cruise control hoses to see if any are damaged, cracked or completly broken. Thats the first place to check with a problem like that, if they all seem ok, write back.
