Default cruise control problem!

I have a 2000 Discovery II and have noticed recently that the Cruise Control dosn't work anymore. The button on the dash seems to function properly and I even hear a faint click when pressing the brake while the key is on( I know this has to do with the CC system from reading other posts). It just dsn't engage when I press the SET button on the steering wheel. Any Ideas?

Have you checked the vacuum hose leading from the pneumatic diaphragm in the back-left (when facing the front of the vehicle) corner of the engine compartment?

When mine went, it was the vacuum hose at the actuator as stated above. The rubber hose after years had cracked. It's an easy and cheap replacement if indeed that's what's wrong with it.

What's wrong with the LR cruise control. I haven't used it extensively but when I have it's worked just fine; my gas foot will attest to that on those occasional long drives...

Buy a can of Liquid Tape and goop up all of your cruise control vacum line connections.

I've made 2 long road trips in my Rover so far and I would kill to have my cruise control working. For some reason I can't find a position that is comfortable for holding the accelerator down for any length of time without my leg cramping. I am supposed to take my Rover to Phoenix in February so I am praying I can get my cruise control fixed by then.

If it still doesn't work after you fix the vacuum lines check to see if your horn works.

The CC is on the same fuse as the horn. Its located in the engine compartment fuse box.

Took me forever to figure that out.
