CV joint repair
Hi all!
my second question of the day... which can seem pretty dumb but... how do I take the wheel nut covers off? they seem to be stuck on the nuts themselves. and what is the size of those nuts? I realized yesterday that the PO left with the crowbar and the jack...
Also, while I'm performing my cv joint change, do I need to replace all the seals and gaskets or I simply replace the one that are bad?
Thanks!

I cannot remember the size for the D1 but they are all one peice and not a cover. I am not sure what model you have but just go through the sockets until you find one that fits.
If you already have the axle out you might as well replace all that you can once, that way you do not need to crack it back open in a month or so to fix what you did not the first time. Just my .02

I'm definitely convinced that the wheel nuts are not in one piece because some of them move. Tried to take it out with a flat srewdriver and a set of pliers and didn't work. I checked and the size would be approximately 28mm. maybe someone can confirm?
thanks for the tip on the gaskets

i'm pretty sure 1 1/16 is the size of the wheel nut deals... i had to buy an RV t-handle to remove one of my tires last week... the little protective covers do not come off... just put the proper size socket or whatever on them and remove the whole lugnut... the covers are there to prevent dirt and whatever else from gettin inside and messing up the threads on the studs or nuts... a few of mine are missing, but i have no idea how they came off, they're on there really good...

Thanks. I tried the 1 1\16... it's too small. I bought the lug nut wrench... so the problem is taken care of. Now I should find a jack. Can a hi-lift work on my stock bumbers since they're not plastic?
