Default D1 CDL retrofit not engaging

Finally got my CDL shifter all buttoned up (D1 shifter into D2), and went to test it out... I drove roughly 10 miles in the sand with the lever all the way to the left, and the dash light never came on. I didn't notice any difference compared to previous sand driving, nor between lever positions.

Before putting things back together I made sure to verify that the CDL lever on the TC was turning, and it moves about 45* to the right when the shifter is pulled to the left. From my research, this is the correct direction and amount of movement.

Do I need to adjust the linkage? Is there anything else I should check?

Thanks!

What year is your Disco 2?
Did you connect the wiring to the diff lock switch?
Check your normally open diff lock switch has continuity across the posts when pressed.

Im assuming that you wired everything correctly. When i did mine i had to bend the cdl shifter itself ( not the linkage) so it didn't hit the cutout in the tranny tunnel. Try driving it with the center console removed and see if it hits.

There is an adjustment bolt and nut where the cable attaches to the CDL nipple You may have loosen nut and increase or decrease the bolt then tighten nut back. This time make sure it is working prior to buttoning things up. The red gear light will come on when the CDL is engaged. Make sure the red gear light is not burned out.
