I'm just stating my opinion of the looks of the D2 lights. I don't care for the black surrounds. Looks like they are trying to make the lights look smaller than they are or maybe round. I'm sure the new design is an improvement over the D1 lights since there is a lot of room for improvement.

 

Well, sounds like it'd be a worth while upgrade to do the housings when I get the hid kit. I've seen D2 housings on ebay for around $50 a piece +shipping. About what the HID conversion costs. Not bad. Of course if I really didnt mind hacking the body and wiring, I love the looks of the 03-04 headlights...

 

Hey do you really think this upgrade would work? Im in love with the 03-04 headlights and I have a D1 but since you guys are saying that D2 headlights would fit on a D1 im assuming that this upgrade would work for the D1 as well. Check it out

Yes the 03-04 headlights can be made to fit a D1 but it will take a lot trimming the metal around the where the headlight mounts.

 

If I had a DI, I would keep the DI lights, If i had a pre 03 d2 I would keep d2 lights. IMO I would keep the original lights on the Discovery. BUT.... I wonder if i had a pre 03 D2, would I be wanting to get the 04-03 plastic headlights?
