Default D2 18" Tire Question

i apologize in advance for beating a dead horse....but i am receiving too much conflicting advice....so wanted to put it out there in a thread....

i have 255/55/18 standard stock d2 tires (not the goodyears, but "similar")

tire pressure:

on-road: 30/35f, 40-43r? or 40/40 f/r? (inside door panel states 28f 43r)

off-road: leave them the same, air down to 20/20?

i am not really a tire guru, and honestly don't know squat about them - but i have read on occasion that these tires need to always be inflated towards the upper-end of the spectrum due to insufficient/lack of sidewalls?

someone help me.....

as i mentioned in previous threads, i have been off roading quite a bit of late, and already see some nicks and small "gashes" in the sidewalls....not a good thing i presume....

There is not enough meat in those tires to air them down for off road, you are going to damage your tires and/or your rims if you do that. You really need 16" tires with a descent sidewall for off roading.
