Default d2 2002 wont go over 2500rpm

I have a 02 d2 that has seen some mud and water this spring/summer. It runs but not over2500rpm or so. When I try to give it more gas it bogs down. At 1st I thought I just got everything so wet that i got water in the fuel. But i ran a can of SeaFoam thru it and it is better but not good would like to be able to go over 55mph. Thanks Chris

Shift into neutral and try and rev the engine to 3000 rpm.

Sounds like a blockage somewhere in the fuel system or your fuel pump is failing. The engine isn't getting enough fuel to run at those high RPMs. I would lean toward the fuel pump on its way out.

I personally try to keep my RPMs under 2000 whenever possible to help with fuel mileage.

Is there some reason you think the problem may be cat related? It doesn't sound to me like it is but I could be wrong.

How old are your wires and plugs? You are not getting any codes thrown?

it could easily be the cat, if your exhaust is restricted then itll cause some similar issues... however if it was just getting wet, i dont see it being the cat, take a look at em, see if theyre real banged up. ive seen mass air flows go bad cause the same thing too on these. got a vacuum gauge?
