Default D2 Axle Service / Maintenance

I have taken care of the 60K mile service on my D2, but wondering what needs to be done to maintain the axles' lubrication, wheel bearings, etc.?

As long as you have changed your gear oil, you are set, nothing else can or needs to be done other then greasing both you drive shafts.

Axles are maintenance free except for the gear lube.

Yup. Thats it.
Depending on what type of gear lube you used, dino lube change it every 30k, full syn change it every 50k.
Lube your u-joints at EVERY oil change, check your gear lube level every other oil change (unless you have a leak) and all is good.
Do your transfer case the same time as the diffs.

Yeah the axles on DI and DII are very simple in terms of maintenance. DII's hubs are $400 each and are non serviceable.

(Another reason why Spike loves DI's)

if you go off-roading in deep mud or muddy water changing the diff fluid every year is a good idea.
