D2 Porn: Dry Ice cleaned the underside of my D2
That said, we only get snow a few times a year here in Oregon, but they did start salting the roads a few years ago due to a state law change after never salting them before (ugh... why... not a fan). Either way this isn't my winter rig so it should be good to go as is with a bit of fluid film up inside the frame. So the moral of the story is -- everyone used to buy Oregon cars because it is a no salt state. Not the case anymore.
Quite high (yes make fun of me) but ... ultimately it looks great. My actual objective is that I want to do this on a couple of more valuable Porsches (a 911 Turbo and a 944 Turbo, both 1986 and low mileage). So, I wanted to see it first hand and make sure it didn't create collateral damage on a known vehicle before taking that jump.
Fun fact: they used it to clean the alcantara panel on the drivers interior door which now looks new (it wasn't bad before but...). The dry ice is surprisingly gentle on materials. Think high tech... like a computerized machine ... with a ton of settings for particle size and velocity, they tailor it to the material that's being cleaned. Cranked ALL the way up it'll actually strip paint off, all the way down you can clean interior materials with it. So part of what you pay for in these is the skill of the technician who's very careful about what and how.
