Curious if anyone has made or seen modified upper rear shock mounts for a D2?

im using fox 2.0 shocks and find the upper shock mounts pretty intrusive. I’ve got a little binding from the mount “hood” and the reservoir. And I’ve had the bolt loosen a time or two over the past few years.

i like the idea of shaving the mount off completely and putting a heavier cleat and mounting post- like available for a D1?
thoughts?
