Default D2 Wheel / Tire Options

I thought Id like the 18"s on the D2 but im not liking the available tire sizes for them. Im getting RTE 3" LIFT what are some popular sizes? it seems all everyone makes is super wide 305+ tires.. 275 is too wide for me..

Should I just go with 16" steelies?

When I got my truck one of the things that I did not like about it were the 16'' rims I wanted the 18" rims. After some research I came to the same conclusions that the 16'' rims had a larger tire selection, the tires were generally cheaper and were better suited for off road use. With that being said I would go with the 16'' steelies especially if you are planing to use it off road.

I'd get the land rover factory steel wheels, if they weren't priced so high. Instead, I'm thinking about getting some from here:

OKoffroad.com Stuff - XD Land Rover Wheels

I talked to the guy on the phone and he seemed pretty nice.

x2 go with a 16". Shop for a 16x8 rim versus 16x7, that will give you even more tire size options.

craigslist is a good place to find used tires + rims as well. Might get lucky on a set of 33" take offs with 80-90% tread. Possibly someone upgrading to 35" etc.

I have a set of 16" rims available, the 5 spoke that was stock on a 2002 D2.
