D2a V8
Greetings all
i am new to the forum ....although been reading posts for some time now
i have a 2003 D2a V8 ...and have heaps of fun with it.
i have a fuel leak that is making the ground at the back of the engine area ...i am guessing from the fuel line in the vacinity of where it connects to the rail... been searching on line for the delivery hose and also with a local supplier ... not having a lot of luck with a replacement hose and fitting....i know i have to take the inlet monifold off to get to this ...but would like to do so know i can get to the correct replacement parts ... ?
if the hose is NLA ... then some direction with the size hose and retrofit would be much appreciated.
all good

Hard line at the back of the lower intake, not rubber. Rarely goes bad, but I suppose the o-ring inside could be bad, it is replaceable (long story). You should be able to get to it with the upper intake and coils off. Good Luck!
Once you get the upper intake and coils off you will see the hardline at the bottom of the lower intake with the hose connected to it. Turn the key on (don't start) which runs the fuel pump, see if it is leaking at that point. It is a quick release line just like the vapor vent on the back of the front plenum of the upper intake behind the throttle body - squeeze to release and pull back. It is possible it just isn't pushed on all the way, although I would have thought it would have popped off by now if that was the case. There is a very small o-ring in there - you can dig it out with a small screwdriver and replace it. I damaged the qr on one of my trucks and had to replace it with a junkyard one - cut and spliced the line with fuel hose. Let me know if you need pics, I can post some.
View of the fitting with coils removed - quick release button is under the green cover
Close up view, different truck but the right angle fitting is the same.
Zoom in on this, under the coils you can see the green cover on the fitting.
That fitting is a very conventional fuel line quick connect.
You can get repair kits at Napa, oreilly, etc Dorman 800-059 is the part number
I don't remember the diameter of the line, but I used something very similar to fix mine. Cut the rubber hose on the vehicle back to a good spot, then trim the plastic on the repair piece so the fitting ends in the right area and then use some good clamps
