In Arizona D2's with problems but good body run 1800 - 3000. Figure on refreshing the interior, painting exterior, and the usual engine/drivetrain evaluation & repair to head off any really expensive stuff. I missed out on an 1800 one with winch bumper, arb, roof rack, etc. Stupid.

There seems to be an endless supply in the SC/NC area, most are overpriced and few are priced according to their problems (I guess thats the same thing)

3 out of these 4 2004's within 200 miles of my search are $18k

Same story in Atlanta. Clean discos with original (but we cared for motors) listing for $6-10k while ones with rebuilt motors going for $12-15k and then you have some crazy ones for $17-22k.

Junk ones are now $3k unless you get lucky.

This example just popped up. Bet you could get it for less.

The point is the D2 is the car I grew up craving. $15K won't stop me once I am done restoring my beauty... Older Toyotas are a game too.

I love ads like that. It won't start but trust me, all it needs is a little $80 part. Classic

On the upside, a breathalyzer is already installed.

Plus it's the ultra-rare 6-cylinder model. Better fuel economy than the nasty V8. And the seller accepts cryptocurrency.
