Default Defender 110 spring in a D2?

I'm running OME HD 763's with 2" spacers, and D1 perches in the rear. Wheel center to arch measures 20.5" on both sides, so that gives a lift of 1.5". Clearly the spring rate on the 763's isn't high enough, because they are compressing 3" more than they should (springs should give 2" lift, plus 2" spacers plus D1 perch 0.5" = 4.5", 4.5" - 1.5" = 3").

Springs measure at 11" installed in the truck (meaning they are compressed 5.5")

Specs on the 763's (heaviest duty spring available for the D2..)
Bar diameter: 18mm
Length: 420mm
# of turns: 7.8
Spring rate: 360lbs/in

I found OME 754's for the D110, and here are the specs:
Bar diameter: 20mm
Length: 435mm
# of turns: 6.9
Spring rate: 420 lbs/in

The gain of 15mm and 60 pounds/inch (keeping the 2" spacers) should help a lot. Would these work? If not... where the heck do I get heavier duty springs?

You might be asking what the hell I have in my truck, and that's a good question

I'm planning to pair them with TF521 Dislocation Long Travel Rear Spring Relocator in conjunction with a panhard conversion

This is an upper retainer and lower cone

You need longer springs, not stiffer.

Normally I'd agree, but Jeff's issue actually is payload.

From what I recall, yes, Defender springs will fit. They'll ride a hair higher I think (been a while since I searched all the specs), but they're the same diameter if memory serves.

Call up OME. I'm willing to bet they'll be willing to tell you the ID and OD. They probably won't give you a cut and try yes or no, but you can go from there.

Researching around the internet it appears D90 springs will fit, but D110 springs will not. I made a mistake in my post... the spring I need is a D110

I think I'm going to take a different direction and attempt to order a custom spring. There a website, conveniently, called Coil Spring Specialties

I can't be the only person to have this problem, but apparently I am

Not sure what I need yet, but I'm thinking around 540mm tall (so I can get rid of the 2" spacer), and maybe keep the 360 lbf spring rate. Going to call them tomorrow.

Jeff, have you ever weighed your rover (while completely loaded, with gear and comsumables). I'm assuming these measurements, mentioned above, are while loaded?

My 01, with just a 2" TF lift measures 20.5 empty and 20 loaded in rear. I'd estimate my gear brings me in at about 400 pounds (seven 35 lbs plastic containers, 5 gallons of gas and water, high lift jack, rack, canopy and camping gear) heavier. The sleeping platform is a wash, since it weighs about the same as the two removed seats.

Went with medium spring from TF all around...and wish now l'd have gotten heavy duties for the rear. I've got some 2" spacers and have been thinking about turning them into one inch spacers and adding them all the way around.

Anyhow, l know none of this helps you with your endeavor. Just wondering what your payload would be. Which, with that swing-out tire rack...you'd have to know roughly the weight of that and add that in. Plus, l believe those cantilevered weight(s) can really put a whooping on the suspension, too.

110 rear coils are larger in diameter and would require a spring perch change

I haven't, but all-in, I would give a conservative 900-1000 pound load estimate.

The guys from coilsprings.com gave a quote of $400 and 4-5 week production time. They also need an OEM or aftermarket spring for calibration... so I think I'll pick up a used OEM spring on ebay for 40 bucks and ship it to them.

I feel kind of crazy attempting to do custom made coil springs... but I really don't see any other option

Do the longest D2 springs from RTE work?

If I remember right, the heaviest TF springs had very high rates.
