Default Damaged Bolt Holes on Head

I have 4 or 5 damaged bolt holes on my heads where the intake manifold bolts are to go. They aren't damaged all the way down, just the first few threads.

What is the best repair for this?

Something like this: Sears.com

You want to use rethreaders, not taps.

There are a couple of options, insert thread inserts in which case you'll need to drill them and tap them or fit larger studs and drill out the manifold holes. There are kits around to do this. On the TD5 it's commonplace for the exhaust manifold to warp and damage/snap the studs and it only leaves these two options also.

There are many kits around much cheaper than this one.

I had same on all 4 corners. Helicoils and good to go. Didn’t even take me 30 minutes. Bought online for less than $20. I didn’t realize until I already had the heads on the block but I was still ok. Just vacuumed out the shavings afterward.
