Damned buzzing noise
I never thought too much about it, because I thought it was normal for a land rover. I noticed that when driving in snow, and I brake suddenly, I seem to skid a little. And when I do, I hear this weird 'buzzing' sound near the foot well. And the brake pedal pushes back. Is this normal? Is it supposed to buzz when I see the TC light up on the dash?? I've read in other posts that it's the ABS pump. Is that true??

It's the ABS pump. Do a search on how ABS and traction control work if you want to understand what the noise is. It's what made Land Rovers better than any other stock 4x4's at the time (aside of the lack of a CDL but that was figured out pretty quickly). Most cars/trucks have it standard now. If any part of the system isn't working however, the whole system is worthless. i.e. wheel speed sensors, frozen calipers, air in lines, pump or ecu issues.. Which is why I preach that calipers, soft lines and fluid should all have been replaced by now, since the latest D2's are 15 years old. And "option B" on the pumps if you haven't done it yet. Otherwise, you might as well have an old Jeep or anything else..
