That Darn Beeping
Okay everyone my ACE system sprung a leak on one of the hard lines so I just bought the shorter serpentine belt so i disconected the ACE pump. Don't really need it. Now the dash light comes on everytime I start the vechicle. Now I can deal with the 2 or 3 minute flashing but not the 2 or 3 minute beeping. Is there a way to deactivate the light by disconecting a plug somewhere in the ACE system or do i have to have to hook it up to a scanner. Or where is that darn speaker located that beeps all the time for the istrument cluster, I can deal with just disconnecting the sound.
lol
Look the rent is cheap, I got no kids and Im single.... so wouldnt that justify both having a Land Rover AND investing in a used ACE system? Ive read about how much of a pain in the *** they are.... but im not deterred. Id love to drive around corners with peace of mind regarding body roll...
The only time an ACE is a pain in the *** is when they are not maintained. I don't know why anyone who has driven a ACE vehicle would write it off for a leak. Ace is a $1700 option that can make your Disco drive more like a sport car and has an extra 1.5"s of articulation over a standard sway bar set up.
I was just on that page literally 5 minutes ago! Did a google search for ACE problems and found that page. But i did not find much regarding issues. And I agree with DiscoMike about the benefits of the ACE system so long as its properly maintained. One day Im gonna TRY and get the system installed on my Disco...
I read in one of the "sagging headliner" threads about a member who applied some form of rubber agent to the headboard prior to re-installing new headliner fabric. Apparently it helped cancel out some outside noise. So use the same principles to insulate the noisy ACE system. Also could try adding heavy duty floor mats on all the flooring to help even more.
