Default Death wobble still! Any ideas??

03 DII, 70k. I have had the death wobble for a while. Pronounced when hitting bumps. Does not do it on braking. I put an OME Steering stabilizer on, no fix. This weekend I had the driveshaft rebuilt with greasable U joints, no fix...but needed to be done anyway. Put 4 brand new Nitto Terra Grapplers on, still no fix. What can I narrow it down to?? Thanks!

Do you have death wobble or just a vibration? Death wobble usually happens after you lift a vehicle. When you hit a bump your wheels will uncontrollably go left to right several times and you can barely hold onto the steering wheel.

There is another guy on here who has the same problem, you guys should talk.
I would just take it in to a suspension shop and have them look at it.

Jack up the front end and check the ball joints (I think Rover's have those) for play. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and shake it back and forth. Any play could cause it to wobble while driving. Tie rod ends could also be worn. Really anything that could wear out suspension wise should be checked. Good luck.

Cheers,

Pete

This happened to me twice, both times the tire pressures were too high.

I have a fairly bad vibration at 51-52mph. 0-50 nice and smooth, 52+ nice and smooth. I assume it's just out of balanced tires, but I have never seen a vehicle with such a bad vibration only at a certain speed.

youre going to need a new drag link and track rod, it has your tie rod ends on it, and they go bad every now and then, resulting in exactly what you have... also, make sure that your steering box is correctly mounted, seen that a few times too

body, It's odd how it only does it at 51-52mph then rides so smooth the rest of the time.
