I had a key done with a nannocom and didn't need the bar code. Used the numbers printed on the circuit board

Clearly not true. I’ve got 2 used fobs from eBay that came with no bar codes unlocking my Disco 2, programmed by Trailhead 4x4 as I described above

Or are you just having a laugh at Disco Mike’s omniscience?

Disco Mike hasn't posted in years, and a lot of things have changed as far as what we can now access & do with our D2's. I remember WAY back when the D2's were just released if the ABS went nuts you'd better still be under warranty because no one could touch it without a T4. Let alone program keys, reset adaptive settings, or change BCU settings.

Now with the Nanocom for example all of those things are within reach.

I'm at a loss. Its not clear to me what code I should be using to program the key fob. I am using the nanocom and have two new key fobs with bar codes. However the first digit of the first bar code starts with N. I am then trying to program in the six digits to the left of N. Did i do something wrong or get the wrong kind of key fob?

Unlikely. I already have them cut. I just need to get a couple of used 315mhz but I only have the Nanocom for a week.

Maybe you can work something out to extend the rental, considering the circumstances.

Another option is to install a 433MHz receiver (cheap on ebay). 433MHz fobs are a lot cheaper. I haven't tried it, maybe someone has some comments on that?

Yes that would work. I have one that i can let you have for free. Only problem is that I am in Cape Town South Africa. If you can arrange for courier i can package for you.

Regards
