Default "Dexcool"cause this...

...crumbling plastic cooling system parts where exposed to coolant:Tee under the thermo, tee atop the fan shroud, thermostat housing, etc. all these parts-made of glass filled nylon-were crumbling and leaking when I got my'03 with 114,000 mi.radiator tanks look ok as does coolant tank. When I have the engine apart for usuall 4.6 faulty cooling system related repairs, will be looking for any other damaged plastic parts-might check the heater core too-presuming it has plastic tanks...

That has nothing to do with dexcool and everything to do with plastic aging and failing. Looks at any BMW, VW, Mercedes, etc. around this age all the plastics crack up and fail.

Dexcool isn't this witchcraft, poisonous, caustic, horrible, substance everyone here attributes it to be lol and if it is related to any issues, it is due to poor maintenance and ownership, not the fluid itself.
