Default DI Brake Job

Ok I am going to be tackling my 1st DI brake rotor/pad job.... Do I just follow the rave manual or do you all have anything to add to the gospel??

Customer wants this kit

Josh, as far as hardware goes, that is what you want to do. Depending on the mileage of this truck, if high, you might consider a new bearing set instead of packing the old set.
Yes, you need that socket and a big breaker bar.
Looks like another fun day in the sun for you again.

You are in that gray area, I would give the owner the option.

Ditch the hub seals in the kit and use RTC3511's. The stock D1 hub seals are worse than useless.

Tom,
How come, what have you found to be wrong with them?

Tom, I am sure you know exactly what you are talking about and I don't want to regret using the seals in the kit if they will not work. What's up with the new seal?

Ok, I guess I was overly broad.
It's not that they don't work, they are designed to keep the lube in, but are pretty worthless at keeping contaminants out. I would only ever use them if the vehicle was never used off-road or in water over the hubs.

The RTC3511 is from the Defender (same hubs as a D1) and are double lipped and do an excellent job of sealing in both directions.
