Default Diagnostic tools... best bang for the buck

Welp, I guess sooner or later I'd have to upgrade my diagnostic tools from a trouble light, BFH, and multimeter to something that works with OBD2 and this Discovery 2.
Soooo I saw Bosch obd2 1350 at the parts store for 100bucks and Autel AL619 for the same $ on Amazon. Worth it?? What's ya'lls opinion on these or is there something better for the price? I'm not a pro mechanic or run an auto shop so I can't justify big money on one that lets you control the Space Station from your garage.
My other vehicles are what I like to call EMP resistant. (no computers)
So, what's in yer' tool box?

Get a ultraguage so you can monitor your coolant temps and reset basic codes

I just ordered a multi-system Foxwell so I can use it on several of my other vehicles as well. That will probably leave my iCarsoft LRII unnecessary. I've been using it quite happily for a couple of years now. If I decide that I don't need it, you can have it for a few dollars to cover shipping.

Thanks!! Please keep me in mind if/when you want to let it go and I'll pm you my info. I have so many bigger fish to fry with this truck it hard to justify big money on a scanner tool. (CDL shifter, head gasket kit, hoses, brake rebuild all coming in this month!) I of course realize they are now mandatory to mess with any newer 90's up vehicle but it's a royal pain in the a$$ to compare these tools. It's almost impossible to compare apples to apples and LR apparently has some specific needs/requirements just to add insult to injury! LOL!

Don't bank on the Fuxwell, it's not very intuitive nor can I do everything I need to on different vehicles, i.e. it does all the basic stuff and some extras but not everything, for everything. Not to mention, you have to buy the software for each vehicle for around 50 bux each after the initial free one. Then again, I'm not very intuitive either, you'll probably have better luck!

I read the cautions about the Foxwell, but I didn't order the version that people seem to have gone for on here -- went with a higher-end model. Will have to do some testing to see how effective it is. The Rover is the first vehicle I've owned with an OBDII port that I've had to do any work on, but now that I have a couple of others in addition a multi-vehicle tool seemed to make sense.

Buy cheap, buy twice. Get a Nanocom and be done with it.
You’ll thank us later.

I am quite happy with my Delphi DS150 knockoff off ebay. $34, will read and troubleshoot everything, will not program keys or ECU's. I have used it on my Fords, BMW, Disco, basically everything.

I'm a firm believer of the idea of "point of diminishing return" so maybe if I serviced a fleet of obd2 vehicles I could see the justification of a high end do all scanner. 1K for a tool to mess with a 800 buck truck? Math doesn't add up. Nowadays tech is pennies on the dollar compared to just a few years ago so I find it hard to believe what some of these companies want for these devices. Over inflated prices? Maybe. Playing on the mindset of if it's expensive it must be better? Maybe. Laws of supply/demand? Meh...
